What is your (professional) life motto and why?
‘Stay curious, keep learning and keep meeting new people’. I interpret this as daring to be active across different organisations and sectors, seeking out diversity and building networks. It’s important to keep an eye on what you’re good at and to maintain a ‘common thread’ throughout your career.
What reading, listening or viewing recommendations do you have for our readers, and why?
The book ‘The Inventor of Nature’ by Andrea Wulf, about the adventurous life of Alexander von Humboldt, is a delightful read about an inspiring scientist. The ideas of IMD professor George Kohlrieser, as set out in his book *Care to Dare*, keep me on my toes. Paul Schenderling’s book *Continent of Quality* offers fascinating insights into the European economy. And the podcast *The Rest is Politics: US*, featuring Katty Kay and Anthony Scaramucci, is fascinating.
